REHEARSALS AND SHOWS.
We’re working hard to bring you our best live show ever. Two NYC-based musicians from Michigan, John and Spiro, both of whom are 100% dedicated to their instruments, have joined us. We have great chemistry with them, and we hope that when the time comes for us to get on stage that you will jump, scream, cry, and above all, feel moved.
Our rehearsal space is a beautiful studio in Chelsea where Nardiz, John, Spiro and I practice every Monday and Wednesday. The vibe is great and once we start, we just keep going. Five hours fly by before we notice that it’s time for a break. It’s amazing to have the opportunity to make new arrangements of our older songs and to have fun interpreting the new ones. We can’t wait to be on stage in your city, sharing our music with you.

THE NEW ALBUM.
We released the new album, WHEN WE ABANDONED EARTH, as independent artists, but we depended on help and collaborations from some amazing friends and colleagues. We recorded the album at Razorhead studios, with musicians including Juan Sosa, Steve Yonkin, and Carlo Nicolao, to name a few.
The final version of the album is much different from the initial demos I made on my computer. The strings arrangements in some of the songs really changed the feel of the album. The production is more elaborate than anything we’ve done before, and I’m very happy to have had input from so many talented people.
I mixed the album myself and re-mixed it at least five times. Nardiz and I weren’t happy with it at first, but we pushed through and now love the final product. Oscar Zambrano mastered the album in his Soho studio—he did a fantastic job. We’ve just received the physical copies of the disc and are eager to get into your hands! We hope you enjoy listening to it as much as we enjoyed making it.

We’re very happy that various DJ’s have created more electronic versions of the songs on the new album. The first to hit the airwaves in Mexico is by DJ DANEL from Veracruz. He told me that he sought to evoke the sound of our first album, LYING TO BE SWEET, as he remixed “love you more,” and I think he accomplished that. If anyone else wants to remix one of the songs, we’re still looking for DJs around the world to interpret and spread our music.

PHOTO SESSION.
Throughout sweet electra’s career we’ve had the privilege of working with talented visual artists such as the Guadalajara-based photographer Cesar Alvarez, and the NYC-based photographer Tania Jiménez, who convinced Hernán Broderick to lend us his incredible photo studio above the Chelsea Market where Fergie, Scarlett Johanson, and other celebrities have had sessions. We’re now looking forward to working with Carlos Wittenstein, a photographer who hails from Argentina.

WHEN WE ABANDONED EARTH. Hola amigos estamos super contentos de ya estar ensayando para presentarles el que será nuestro tercer LP, es un trabajo que nos llevó aproximadamente un año y medio o quizá un poco más en terminarlo, en el colaboran los talentosísimos Carlo Nicolau, Juan Sosa, Steve Yonkin, Radi por mencionar algunos y fué algo que le dió un giro al disco musicalmente hablando y lo nutrió mucho más, al final creo que es una producción que no pensábamos que fuera a ser tan grande y con tantas colaboraciones, Nardiz y yo al final quedamos muy contentos con el trabajo final, pése a que la mezcla la tuve que hacer varias veces porqué no estábamos convencidos de que nos encantará, hasta que finalmente dimos con el sonido que quisimos y llevamos el disco a masterizar con el Mr. Oscar Zambrano en sus ZAMPOL studios en Soho. Espero que disfruten el disco tanto como nosotros disfrutamos el proceso de componerlo y grabarlo…
REMIXES. Estamos super contentos ya que varios DJ´s se encuentran trabajando en las versiones más electrónicas del disco, el primero que há termina ha sido el DJ DANEL de la ciudad de Veracruz, dicho en sus propias palabras es un remix que evoca al sonido del primer disco LYING TO BE SWEET y creo que lo ha logrado con mucho acierto. Si alguien más se quiere apuntar seguimos buscando gente que a su vez nos ayude y ayudemos ya que el mundo de la música tiene que ser a través de la unión de nuestra comunidad musical.
GIRA Y ENSAYOS. Estamos ensayando arduamente para que al salir al escenario ofrezcamos un show mucho mejor que los anteriores, para esto contamos con el apoyo de 2 grandes musicos de Michigan mismos que están dedicados 100% a su instrumento, hemos tenido muy buena química a la hora de ensayar y eso hace que el sonido sea mucho más natural y la pasemos muy bien, creemos que a la hora de salir al escenario la pasaremos de maravilla y espero que brinquen, lloren o griten pero que sobre todo les haga sentir algo…
SESIÓN FOTOGRÁFICA. A lo largo de nuestra carrera hemos contado con gente que há trabajado en el aspecto visual; Cesar Alvarez (nuestro fotográfo base), Enrique… uy no me acuerdo su nombre, perdón, Tania Jiménez quién a su vez Hernán Broderick nos hizo el favor de prestarnos un estudio increíble arriba de Chelsea market donde hacen sesiones con Fergie, Scarlett Johanson y muchas celebridades más y esta vez nos hará una sesión el Argentino CHE! Carlos Wittenstein.
